After a successful search we welcomed Nikki Shaffeeullah to the Generator leadership team as the Director of Programming.
The Artist Producer Training Program became the Artist-Producer Lab and ran with a cohort of 6 keen individuals shifted the focus towards micro research projects.
ArtistProducerResource.com visits grew from past years to reach over 60,000 annual users!
We continued our beloved Financial Literacy program with one stream: Financial Literacy for Independent Artists and added a special one-time only ONCA Transition Group for the non-profit sector to help lead them through their compliance.

Generator has published our 2022/23 Annual Report! Our 2022/23 Fiscal Year was September 1, 2022-August 31, 2023. Here are some highlights:
The Artist Producer Training Program ran as an Embedded Edition and was facilitated by Eva Barrie. A cohort of 4 individuals were paired with partner organisations, SummerWorks, Toronto Fringe, Dancemakers, and Shakespeare in the Ruff. The participants combined independent learning with on the ground experience.
ArtistProducerResource.com visits grew from past years to reach over 24,000 annual users! We focused our season on cleaning up the content and reaching out to new knowledge contributors.
We continued our beloved Financial Literacy program in two stream: Financial Literacy for Independent Artists ran in the fall ; Financial Literacy for Non-Profit Workers ran in the winter.
We hosted two community events which brought us together to share in grounding and self-care practises. We hosted Grounding Ourselves in partnership with Jamii and the Intimacy & Self-Care Check in with special guest facilitators Aria Evns, Lilia Leon, and Carine Diverlus.

We began two projects in incubation: Means of Production and Governance Reimaginings. Each brought together groups of people to imagine, collaborate, and create new futures for the arts.
Shifted Artist Producer Training Program online as a self-guided program.
ArtistProducerResource.com saw a doubling in visits this year — with the number of annual users approaching 20,000!
We announced two separate streams of Financial Literacy: Financial Literacy for Independent Artists ran in the winter (and sold out in two weeks!); Financial Literacy for Non-Profit Workers ran in the summer, and was another sold-out success.
Launched Learning Pathways, self-guided learning packages curated by members of the Generator team that pull together ArtistProducerResource.com pages, YouTube videos, templates, infographics, and other resources meant to deepen knowledge and understanding on a particular theme.
We began the ‘Transition’ project, a call for new Leadership that involved hiring of 6 Strategic Advisors from the community, accessibility consultation, and a paid Hiring Committee.
Equity and Justice Organizational Review was completed by consultant Zainab Amadahy in Fall 2020. In March 2021, a public version of Zainab’s report was shared, together with a statement and work plan from the board.

We moved our office from CSI Bathurst to Trinity St. Paul’s Centre for Faith, Justice and the Arts…and then shut our doors when Covid-19 hit in March 2020
Our financial blog posts offered guidance to artists in a rapidly changing economic landscape as pandemic lockdowns began, and were viewed 4200+ times in the first four weeks
Five incredible Artist Producers graduated from our training program, successfully navigating a transition to digital learning and digital practicums in the spring
Even in a year that saw producing grind to a (temporary) halt, 2019/20 was our biggest ever for ArtistProducerResource.com—more than 8,100 users visited the site, a 35% increase over 2018/19
We completed our Transform Dance project, looking at Transformative Justice approaches to workplace harassment in the Toronto dance community—our final project report was shared in March 2021
We began accountability work with consultant Zainab Amadahy, who produced an Equity and Justice and Organizational Review that was published in March 2021

Six fantastic, thoughtful Artist Producers who are working in equitable, interdisciplinary, and revolutionary ways graduated from the Artist Producer Training Program
We launched the Transform Dance program, a pilot project designed to offer transformative justice processes to folks who have experienced harassment within the dance community
ArtistProducerResource.com is now supported by monthly Patreon donors, who receive a subscribers-only newsletter with all the latest updates and features from the wiki
We sold out the first year of public registration for our Financial Literacy Program
More than 6,000 users made ArtistProducerResource.com part of their producing practice
