About Generator:
Generator builds the capacity of Toronto independent performing artists through mentorship and entrepreneurial skills training.
Generator plays an important role in assisting artists to develop the means to create and produce work. Generator’s programs aim to fill the gap created with more artists creating more work, with fewer formal tools. In this environment of entrepreneurship, Generator is a mentoring, teaching, and innovation incubator that empowers independent artists, producers and leaders who will shape the future of performance in Toronto. To play a key role in a sustainable independent performance sector driven by self-producing artists.
Job Description:
Monthly fee of $500 for regular website maintenance and updates, as well as producing 1-2 new content items a month (there is an additional budget on top of the monthly fee for content production).
Plan, generate and evaluate content for ArtistProducerResource.com, vlog and YouTube channel.
Oversee the content creator base and recruit new creators as needed.
Research and connect to other tools in Canada.
Develop relationships with organizations that could use ArtistProducerResource.com, providing education on tool use as needed.
Qualities and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about Toronto's live art scene, an independent worker and has great computer skills. They will be adept at using content and scheduling systems, comfortable tracking large amounts of information and combine editorial skills with technical know-how. They are comfortable with video editing software and have a working knowledge of HTML and experience editing websites. They likely graduated from theatre or film school and have a passion for getting things done. They will be creative, innovative, and interested in collaborating with and learning from others.
As they will be in charge of arranging and managing meetings and filming, punctuality, dependability and flexibility are crucial. The ability to self-motivate, meet deadlines and produce quality content is equally important.

As a team we work collaboratively to create a wealth of resources available to our communities of artists and producers. This includes:
Coaching and mentoring the artists and companies that work out of the Generator office.
Contributing and reviewing content for shared resources such as ArtistProducerResource.com and our other media.
Teaching sessions in the Artist Producer Training program and workshops.
Evaluating all programs and implementing changes as they arise.
Taking an active interest in the performing arts community in Toronto and Canada and the issues pertinent to it.

Answering the telephones and email inquiries.
Helping keep the office clean, which includes take out garbage and recycle, cleaning out the fridge, and repairing and maintaining office equipment and furniture as needed.
