INTIMACY AND
SELF-CARE CHECK-IN
Join us for an informal gathering, focused on intimacy and self care, as we continue to negotiate shared public space together
Sunday, November 27, 2022
4-6pm
Location: Found Coffee, 324 College Street, Toronto
FREE admission for all performance-based (theatre/dance) artists and arts workers
Accessibility (see below)
Event Description
Have a coffee / tea / espresso on us!, and engage in conversation with Generator staff, and invited guests - Carine M. Diverlus, Aria Evans, and Lilia Leon. Each brings their own unique perspective and relevant working experiences, with intimacy coordination in performance-based settings, and self-care for the mind and body, to this shared space.
Engage in one-to-one conversations or chat in small groups, in an informal and more relaxed space for intimate connection and engagement.
Check-in with your friends and colleagues, outside of the studio or theatre, and engage in intentional conversations about care; what you need right now and how you can support others.
Meet Co-Creative Directors, Michael Caldwell and Bianca Guimarães de Manuel, and chat about the emergent and urgent ideas within our diverse communities of performance practice.
Accessibility
There is a small ramp at street level, leading onto one shallow step at the entrance to the coffee shop. There is a small lip to cross over at the door frame.
The all-gender washrooms are located downstairs on the basement level and they are not accessible to individuals with certain kinds of mobility devices or individuals who have difficulty climbing or descending stairs.
The space will have bright natural lightning, as well as soft artificial lights. Beyond the shift in natural light with the time of day, the artificial lights will remain the same. We will offer a few yellow tinted glasses for those who require them. The sound level will be a mixture of small group chatters, together with louder voice sounds. We will have a few earplugs and earmuffs available for those who desire to self-regulate the sounds in the space. The space will be scented by coffee, tea, and food. We will also offer fidget toys for those that desire them. All items will be available to be borrowed at the entrance of the space.
Please contact us at info (at) generatorto.com with any questions or concerns.
COVID-19
Masks and face coverings are not required for this event, though strongly encouraged. Hand sanitizer and face masks will be available onsite. We will adapt our COVID-19 protocols, as required by the venue and as put forward by Toronto Public Health and the Government of Ontario here…
