Direct Action Producing: Mobilizing Communities Through Art Led by Shanae Sodhi

What if your art didn't just move people—it mobilized them?

This workshop challenges the passive model of arts engagement and explores how artist-producers can transform performance spaces into launchpads for community-led change. We'll examine why so much socially conscious art stops at truth-telling, leaving audiences feeling informed but unequipped for real change. Together, we'll learn how to bridge the gap between witnessing injustice and taking action—reclaiming the social capital and power that gathering spaces have always held.
